Where is the Sun?

This weekend Griffin and I went to a SummerFest Parade with Lucy and Becky. It was a lot of fun. Griffin was in Aww of all the floats, tractors, antique cars. He danced the marching bands it was real cute. We were running late and had to park quite a ways away, I luckily had the wagon in the car so we made it in time but I forgot my camera in the car! All those great photo opts I missed. I took this picture with my cell phone, it was the best I could get. It's hard to get two toddlers to look at the camera at the same time!
Then Saturday afternoon we played in the yard and got an ice cream from the ice cream truck. I attempted to take a family photo but Gunnar decided to crash at the last moment. Guess he wasn't happy about not being included! Today we celebrated Father's Day by making Andrew blueberry pancakes for brunch. It was nice to relax as a family.

Trip to Connecticut

A couple weekends ago, I know I am slacking again, we went to Ct for a fun filled family weekend. We celebrated Maddie's 13th Birthday on Friday and Saturday!! Hard to believe she is a teenager, she was born 3 days before I graduated high school, man I am getting old.
It was a great weekend. Griffin loves all the chaos of the family and adores all the attention they give him. Friday night we stayed at Cindy's to help get ready for the parties on Saturday. I made cotton candy with the girls, it was a real fun time. There was a double slip and slide with a pool at the end. I couldn't resist. And had the friction burns to prove it. OUCH! We also celebrated my Great Uncle Paul's 80th birthday. It was a beautiful party celebrating his life with a slide show that made me cry. It was great to catch up with famiy that I haven't seen in a long time. We had a great trip to Connecticut.

Weekend Fun!

What a weekend! Friday night we went to the lake and Griff played with Joseph. Saturday we put together Griffin's swingset. It only took us 8 1/2 hours. Thankfully Andrew's dad was there to help but mostly to keep the peace between Andrew and I. After everything was said and done we were exhausted and sunburned to top it off. But Griffin loves it, we played on it Sunday morning. He is waiting for it to stop raining so he can go outside and play on it some more. Saturday Andrew's mom took Griffin to the store and bought him a firetruck car, he couldn't be happier. It is like Christmas in June for the little guy. Sunday we mowed the lawn and tried our best to make the yard look a little better. Hoping to get the loam and grass seed down over the next couple weekends. That should improve things a little. We went over to the camp and attempted to take the little boat out for a ride but it is broken. So we went for a fun ride on the jet ski!! Griffin and I are headed to CT on Thursday to visit the family and go to some birthday parties. Here's hoping the weather doesn't ruin the fun!

Finger Painting with Pudding

Griffin's school did an art project this week, finger painting with pudding. He was the only little guy who was eating as much pudding as he put on the paper!

Big Boy Table

Griffin has moved to the big boy table with the other kids at school. His appetite is also increasing, we are anticipating a growth spurt because he is eating so much lately. This morning he had 6 mini pancakes at breakfast along with his fruit and milk. Griffin was so happy to be sitting with the other kids. When we arrived at school this morning he went in and kissed one of his friends, Connor. It was so sweet. Then he decided he needed a hug too. I wish I had it on video to share.

Phase Two of Yard Expansion

We are in full swing with the yard. The excavators were able to come now that the rain has stopped to remove the stumps. We still have some work ahead of us before we can put down the grass seed. But things are moving along. We are hoping to get Griffin's swing set up this weekend, weather permitting of course. Griffin really didn't know what to think of the excavator being in his backyard. We woke up extra early today so that we could go check it out. He was still a little groggy but talked about it all the way to school. The big tractor!
