Nothing Yet....

Well it is officially my due date today and there is no sign of the little man.
My only question is how much longer can this torture go on for?
We have been trying to coax him out but he just doesn't seem interested. We went for a bumpy ride on our friends 4 wheeler. We've walked around numerous stores hoping that would start something. We tried the whole rubbing your ankles and hands. I even had Taco Bell which the baby has always hated. But nothing. Well the night isn't over yet so we will see. Thank you for all your phone calls and emails.

Dr's Visit

Well we went to the Dr this morning. Still not dialated but he said that my cervix is 100% effaced. He said that my back pain is from the baby dropping into position and that I have poor posture from the weight of my stomach. I have this new pain right in the middle of my ribs and he said it is from the baby kicking and that he is out of room. Shocked right?
The Dr said that at my next appointment, next Wednesday, the baby will have a Non Stress Test (they hook you up to a monitor and track the baby's heart rate and also your contractions), then schedule or perform an ultrasound and then put together a plan of inducing me. But he doesn't want to incude me now because there are some risks involved.
So keep your fingers crossed that I will dialate quick and have a short, fast labor.

The Nursery

Well the nursery is finally finished, it looks so cute. Christine and Andrew did a great job. I must say that she fit a lot of stuff in a small room. We have received so many nice gifts for our little guy. The crib is beautiful I love the color and style. It converts into a toddler bed and then a full size bed.
I wasn't able to get a picture of the room as a whole, but did take a short movie, click below to view the nursery. I tried my best with the video I haven't really used it much.
The bumper set is called Antique Toys and has light blue and brown stripes with all Antique Toys on it. The dog's name is "Casey" it was Andrew's when he was a little boy.
We have to hang some more pictures on the walls and maybe a shelf. I am thinking of getting a bookshelf for the corner but haven't found the right one.
The glider fits perfectly in the corner it is so comfy and relaxing. We will slide the ottoman out when it is needed.

39 weeks

The countdown begins..... 5 days til my due date. I go back to the Dr's tomorrow. I have been having a lot of back pain off and on since Monday afternoon. I had some pretty intense contractions late Monday Night so hopefully things are starting. Here are some pictures of my belly sorry for the delay. Please be kind with your comments..... I put on 3 lbs last week. The books all say that you stop gaining weight when you are close to delivering. We have shortened the list of possible names but haven't made a final decision yet. I think we will take the list
to he hospital and let him decide when he is born!
I started back to work last Thursday it has been quite the adjustment. My days are a lot longer without my mid morning and afternoon naps. Our office has recently moved and the bathroom is a lot closer so I am much happier.
I have been having a tough time uploading the video of the nursery but am still working on it. It is so cute.
Any predictions on when I will deliver? My belly has really exploded in the last few weeks.

37 weeks down!

Well we made it to 37 weeks........Now where is the baby? Still in my belly, unfortunately. The Dr said that things are good and the baby is ready but my cervix is completely closed. (Not what I was hoping to hear) So Saturday night we had spicy mexican food and took a couple bumpy boat rides hoping to start things up. But no luck. So much for my dream of the baby coming on 9/3. Guess I will be 29 when the little monster finally comes! And still no name.... I am told that they won't let you leave the hospital without naming the baby so we might be in trouble.

Baby Shower

Last Sunday Andrew's family threw me a baby shower. The house was decorated with pink and blue decorations, balloons and confetti. There were these little pink and blue footprints all over the tables. So cute. We munched on sandwiches, salads, lobster and mushroom ravioli's everything was delicious. The baby received so many presents, I don't think that he will be without one thing. So many adorable outfits. It was a beautiful day that was shared with friends and family that I will remember forever.

Minor Setbacks!

Well as most of you have heard I was put on bed rest in the beginning of August due to some bleeding (which was caused by the placenta lifting away from the wall of the uterus) that I had when I was in CT for my cousin's bridal shower. Both baby and I are fine. But they are closely monitoring the baby. We have had 3 ultrasounds and a fetal stress test, all of which went well. Today was our latest ultrasound and the Dr said that the baby is at approximately 6.1 lbs and could possibly be born within the next week and a half to two weeks. So that was surprising news. So I guess I will be packing my bag for the hospital instead of just talking about it. Baby has dropped and is in position. Head is down, back and butt are on the right side with the feet on the left. It has maintained this position for about the past 4 weeks. The sonographer told us that the baby doesn't have much more room in there. And for anyone who has seen me it goes without saying that I am all belly. But the baby is still very active.
Some friends came over tonight and brought me dinner and helped me to organize the baby's stuff. That was a big help as I was a little overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. We are still clearing out the office to turn it into the nursery. Hopefully it will be completed by this weekend.
Andrew has been a great help and has really taken over the reigns as I really can't do anything. I wasn't waiting until the last minute but was planning to spread things out over the last 2 months so I would keep busy until the baby was born. Never expecting to be spending most of the day on the couch or hanging out on the bed for a change of scenery.
Christine is coming up on Sunday for a few days and will be a big help in putting the nursery together, she has great decorating style and will definitely be an asset to have around.
Surprise, surprise we still can't agree on a name!
I will have Andrew take some pictures and will post them soon.
