Here is a little video of Nora, these days she is all giggles and stories. She loves her feet and likes to chew on her toes. She has rolled over twice but Andrew hasn't seen it yet. She loves to sit or stand holding your fingers. You will have to excuse my hair in the second part, I hadn't yet showered. The date is messed up on the video, I didn't catch it before the upload. She wasn't even born on 8/16/2010. Sleep deprivation gets me sometimes.
A little video of Griffin shaking his money maker after tubby time. He is so funny.
Well here are some snaps from our winter break as a family. Andrew took the last week of the year off and Griffin's preschool was closed and I hadn't returned back to work yet so it was family time. We have never taken a winter vacation together and it was a lot of fun. Griffin got to use his new tube and sled that he got for Christmas. We went ice fishing and even went for a short snowmobile ride as a family on New Years Eve Day. Nora did great, Patty snuggled Nora for most of the day. Griffin had a blast ice fishing with his friends and Uncle Mark.
Nora has started day care and seems to really like the lady. Due to unforseen circumstances we were unable to start her at the daycare Griffin went to like we had originally planned. But hoping that we will be able to switch her over in the upcoming months.
Nora had her 4 month check up in the end of December she weighed 12 lbs and 5 oz, believe it or not she weighs less than Griffin did at 4 months. I was shocked. She is actually taller than he was at that age. She is doing well, she is a really happy little girl, with a sweet personality. We call her "screech" because she will all of a sudden just let one out from the blue. It is funny to hear such a little girl yell so loud.
Now that the holidays are over Griffin's school is working on winter projects. They go tubing every morning if it is not too cold. He is nice and tired when he comes home at night! He now wants a snowboard so he can do tricks!
It took me a little longer to update than I had expected..Christmas was a blast, I have some videos of Christmas morning but haven't gotten them downloaded off the flip yet. Griffin had a great holiday. Here are some pictures from various Christmas parties we attended and the Doyle Christmas party as well. We went to Andrew's fathers work Christmas party where they had an organ grinder and chimpanzee. Andrew used to see the same show when he was a kid! It was a lot of fun, he threw a ball and did all sorts of neat things. Nora slept thru most of Christmas morning but that was ok b/c we had a chance to focus our attention on Griffin. His excitement was unbelievable, another great memory!
Well it's December and the countdown to Christmas has begun in the Spires House. Thanksgiving was great, the kids and I went to CT. It was a good trip, the kids were good and traffic was light. We did manage to leave behind the cold that had been going thru the house, sorry to those that received our gift, tis the season I guess.
Griffin is super dooper (his new phrase) excited about Santa... it is real cute though. He does have a couple things that he wants from the big guy. And there is only one thing that we have no idea what it is this year, something called "talkimoki". We have asked everyone and searched everywhere. We have to take him to Toys R Us to see if he can point it out to us. But the details of the toy are a little sketchy and change frequently. But we have learned that you can't doubt Griffin, he does seem to know what he is talking about. It is an improvement over his list last year, he wanted Brown, just brown so that made for a fun Christmas... At least this year he has more attainable items like a skateboard and drums. We will see what Santa can put together in his toy shop for him.
He went to see Santa on Monday with school. Decorate gingerbread houses on Tuesday. A holiday tea party on Wednesday... the list goes on and on. As a family we picked out and decorated our Christmas tree last weekend and Griffin was such a big helper with the ornaments, there are a few branches that are getting a workout. We also took pictures for our holiday card. I am looking forward to next year when both kids will be a little older and hopefully easier!
Since his class only goes out one time a day they try to release that toddler energy in other ways like dancing... here is a video that I had to shoot yesterday. The music should be one of these kids is doing his own thing, but believe it or not he has picked up the dance quite well. He is an observant guy. He does like to dance, he moves his hips like Ricky Martin, it is impressive. Almost as impressive as the time he asked his father to do a somersault and Andrew almost broke his back doing one... I wish I had that on video. Griffin and Andrew have the occassional dance parties in the living room together. It's so cute.
Griffin is getting ready for Thanksgiving, his class is celebrating this Thursday. He will be putting on a play too. I can't wait! I do have to say he makes a pretty cute hand turkey.
Here is Griffin singing his songs, the Indians are creeping and I'm a little Indian.
Nora and I stayed home and passed out candy... we might've gotten about 15 kids... it was super cold. Andrew and Griffin went out with the rest of the gang on our annual hayride through Mark's old neighborhood. They only made it to 1/2 the houses b/c of the weather. Griffin didn't mind though... he had a great time.
